Appropriately Named Louisville Player In Trouble Again

derrickcaracter.jpgFrom the “Yeah, I Guess This Was Bound To Happen” Department: Talented, troubled Louisville sophomore Derrick Caracter was indefinitely suspended today. The primary reason? He didn’t go to his room when Ricky told him to!

Caracter has reportedly been on a strict curfew since September and has broken that curfew a couple of times. Why do I want to believe that it wasn’t just 1 a.m. Wendy’s runs that were the cause of the infractions?

This is certainly not the greatest news when you consider the fact that the Cards currently are without David Padgett and Juan Palacios. Now that Caracter is done for the time being, where are the points down low going to come from? Mark my words, Caracter will be back in plenty of time to be play the Big East portion of Louisville’s schedule.

Things are not going well for either big school in Kentucky at the moment. But that’s a post CHJ will hold off on until Louisville officially falls out of the Top 25 and Kentucky loses to another no-name school.

Louisville is probably done now anyway and is not a top 25 team.

Before the season started, I had this team pegged as a Final Four squad. Two injuries and a suspension later, the Cardinals look like they’ll be lucky to make the final four of the Big East tournament.

I had actually forgotten that Louisville kind of started this way last season, then made their surge. It seems unlikely that they’ll do it again this season, and in fact, I’ve got a weird feeling that an utter collapse (barely hitting the 20-win mark) is a possibility.
