My Bears have been officially eliminated from playoff contention. What does this mean? I can focus solely on CHJ and bring you some of the best (?)…ah, whatever. It means I get to lockdown on this beautiful game of college basketball and bring you more and more things in the coming weeks. Here’s last night’s light docket…
–No. 6 Duke 111, Albany 70. Give it up to the Duke fans (I guess) for strangely getting up for this game. Albany was out of it by the first TV timeout. The Duke-Pitt battle on Thursday looks pretty damn sexy right now. Barring something extraordinary happening though, I don’t think the outcome of that game will definitively set the two teams apart by a wide margin. My pick: Duke.
–No. 10 Marquette 80, Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne 56. Solid bench production from David Cubillan for the Golden Eagles in this one. Nice to know that there’s a little insurance down the road when they will surely need it.
–No. 18 Gonzaga 77, Northern Colorado 57. Austin Daye is a stud. One of those “glue” guys you tend to hear about from time-to-time, except for the fact that he’s a really good offensive player, which “glue” guys tend to not be. Daye played well on Monday night, that’s my point.
–No. 22 Miami (FL) 89, Stetson 53. Welcome the Hurricanes to the Big Kids Table. Now they have a 10-0 record and are looking more and more legitimate. Then again, they might want to stay away from playing really expensive cowboy hats. (Heyyyo.)
–No. 25 USC 83, Delaware State 54. The three-loss Trojans sneak back into the AP Poll, for whatever reason, and get a gimme game and subsequent win over Delaware State. Call me when you’ve beaten a noteworthy opponent.
