I’m  pretty excited about the G’Town/Memphis game that’s starting in less than an hour, so let me plow through these scores here…
–No. 10 Marquette 89, Coppin State 42. That’s a double-up for the Golden Eagles. Dominic James (18 points) was his usual self and Tom Crean will have a happy Christmas. Marquette is playing such solid, methodic basketball right now. Depending upon how Georgetown plays today, I might be ready to anoint them the best in the Big East. Also, a double-up will almost certainly always earn you the feature photo on the Top 25 rundown.Â
–No 15 Clemson 90, DePaul 74. By winning, they ensure the battle of the unbeatens today against Ole Miss.Â
–No. 21 Brigham Young 70, Southern Utah 55. BYU hasn’t lost a home game in 38 games. Suddenly, that’s the best to boast about in the nation.Â
Notable:
Tulane 70, Georgia 69. Some thought that the Bulldogs would a sleeper team. But this HOME loss to Tulane drops them to 6-3, and with the rest of the middle of the pack.Â
Winthrop 62, Old Dominion 59. Winthrop if 6-5. Old Dominion is 6-6. These legitimately almost legitimate mids are doing no good by beating up on each other. Ultimately, they both could be left out of The Tournament.Â
