Scoreboard: BCS Title Game Monday Results

Now that all that football nonsense is over, we can get down to the real college game that matters! (Just kidding, I do love me some amateur pigskin as well, but the finale didn’t quite meet the bill that was the regular season.)

–No. 14 Butler 66, Loyola (IL) 55. All business for the Bulldogs against the now 5-10 Ramblers. Forty-six percent from the field was negated by 47 percent behind the 3 line for Butler. If this team enters The Tournament with four losses or less, they better be a 5 seed or better. Shouldn’t be an issue, though.

robertmorris.jpgRobert Morris 57, Boston College 51. “Ahhh?” Was my exact reaction when I saw the score of this one, try saying it out loud…it’s awkward. So is this loss…wow, did Kansas really leave BC reeling this much? A home loss for the Eagles to Robert Morris? It’s true. Robert Morris is now an 11-5 squad, but they do reside in the NEC, which isn’t exactly berthing out behemoths on an annual basis.  The outcome seems less shocking when you notice that BC only shot 41 percent from the floor. The outcome becomes even more head-scratching when you peek to the Colonials’ box score to discover they shot 37 percent from the field. This one might end up being a back-breaker for BC down the road.

Kansas State 85, Savannah State 25. Oh yes, welcome to the woodshed. Beastley tooled on the JV kids, bringing in 25 and 10. Seriously…25 points, Savannah State? You do have eight wins to your credit…so you’re not that awful. Well, no, after this outcome, you appear to be just that. The Tigers shot SIXTEEN PERCENT from the floor. I gotta do a little research, but that has to be the worst any team has shot from the floor this season.

Alabama A&M 94, Grambling State 61. GSU remains winless, now sitting with a mere nine losses.
