If I knew how, or really had the desire to, I’d upload a photo of some good Syracuse friends of mine from last night’s SU/Georgetown game. It’d be fun for everyone because they probably wouldn’t be comfortable with the photo on the Internet and I’d laugh at their expense. Regardless of that, I wish I was there last night with you all: Erin, Girtsy (that’s a guy), Colin, Jen and Dana (also a guy). I used to visit Syracuse regularly during my college days, so I openly cheer for them on many occassion, but don’t call me a fan! Is ‘Cuse destined to just miss out on The Tournament again this year? Look for that sort of orange-flavored installment here on CHJ very soon.
–No. 9 Georgetown 64, Syracuse 62 (OT). Zero field goals in the overtime session prevented Syracuse from stealing a much-needed conference road win. Georgetown is more and more looking like a second round, 6 over a 3 victim as the weeks go by. It also looked like Jonny Flynn was trying to do too much for the Orange(men) and didn’t really trust his teammates as much as he should have. Then again, the team only shot 37 percent from the floor for the night.
–No. 12 Texas 63, Oklahoma State 61. Many a memory from last year’s meeting in Gallagher Iba was rekindled in this tight one last night, but of course it couldn’t live up to those expectations. D.J. Augustin is probably my favorite point guard in the country right now and he scored 26 points in the win. I thought Oklahoma State was going to take it—it kind of felt like that in the second half, right?—but Texas keeps maturing as the season goes on. I see a lot of similarities between this team and the T.J. Ford Final Four team from a few years back.

Georgetown is simply overrated and I completely agree. Syracuse isn’t that good as it is yet the Hoyas only barely escaped.
Disagree about Texas. They will have the same fate as the Durant team.
Really really thought we were gonna pull off the upset. Definitely nice to see all the orange alumni come out though. We’re everywhere!
