BlogPoll, January 23
Each week, a handful of us college hoops bloggers put together our own version of a Top 25 poll to make ourselves feel just a little more important (our tiny voices matter, too!). Here is what we have assessed, as a group, with any of the AP rankings that significantly differ from any of ours for each team set in parentheses and first places votes in bold. Obviously, if there are no numbers in parentheses, then our rankings match the AP voters’ or are within three voting points. And for the sake of putting the poll out mid-week, most voting is done as soon as Monday night’s games are finished.
My fellow pollers really believe as a group that Duke is better than UNC right now in wake of the loss to Maryland? Say it ain’t so!

So Matt, how far do you have Tennessee dropping after getting stomped last night? 8? 9? maybe 10? I think you guys are spot on with Drake and I hope their big win last night jumps them up to 15th and ahead of the 3 average squads in place. (I know that some of my posts may label me as a SEC or Big East hater, but I’m really not)

Can’t buy what Drake is doing YET. If I remember correctly there was a 2, maybe 3 loss team a few years back that everyone loved (damn it, why can’t I remember) that was pounded in their first round game. Maybe they went undefeated in conference?

I would rank Tennessee as 8, maybe 9 right now. And there’s nothing wrong with hating certain conference season-to-season. Makes the discussion that much more engaging.
