BREAKING: Bob Knight Leaving Texas Tech

Not really sure why this is happening, but I wanted to get something up on the site immediately, though you’ll be slammed over the head with it by ESPN in the upcoming days. (Especially now that the Super Bowl is over.)
Pat Knight, Bobby’s son, is going to be taking the dry erase board from his dad and coaching the bubble team for the remainder of the season.
Knight’s been coaching since 1965; perhaps this is the end. Dickie V, those pipes are working again just in time for you to sing his praise until The Tournament starts.
More information/opinion on this story as it develops, of course.
The Lubbock Avalanche Journal broke the story. I’d like you it, but it seems they’re quite slow what with everyone crashing the site over the news.

St. John’s better be making an offer to him as I speak….Come on Coach Knight get 1000 in NY

That’d be huge. I want to say that Knight is calling it quits for good though. Don’t you get the feeling that he just got sick of the inferior talent and lackluster support in Lubbock? St. John’s would be a complete 180 from a media perspective (and the fans would show immediately, but the program would still be second fiddle to the Knicks, of course).
