“No Country For Old Men” was indeed the best movie I saw last year. No complaints from any of the results last night from me. Here we see Brook Lopez and Jamal Boykin paying homage to the passing of Heath Ledger and his “Brokeback Mountain” performance. Those death montages always get me too, guys.
–No. 3 North Carolina 89, Wake Forest 73. Tar Heels can try and sneak back into being a 1 seed now after some of the damage that was done this weekend.
–No. 9 Stanford 79, California 69. The Cardinal handle the Bears. With Oregon and Cal underachieving so much, it now seems like the Pac-10 will “only” receive six bids.
–No. 10 Xavier 57, Dayton 51. Seth Davis believes that the Flyers can’t play themselves back into the at-large picture. Seeing how the Flyers have now lost seven of their last 10 games are are 5-8 in the conference with three games to go.
–No. 11 Wisconsin 58, Ohio State 53. Good game throughout, but Wisconsin has managed to make this type of winning-close-in-the-50′s down to a science.
–No. 18 Louisville 75, Pittsburgh 73. Pittsburgh isn’t a shoo-in for The Dance just yet, remember. The Panthers are now 19-8 and 7-7 in the Big East.
–No. 21 Notre Dame 94, Syracuse 87. The appropriately named Irish Kyle McAlarney drains a school-record 10 3s in the defeat. Had ‘Cuse been able to drop some simple layups and contain Mac (not likely), then they really should have won this game. The Orange(men) now need to win at least two in New York and get a win against Pitt or Marquette before the season ends.
Notable:
Saint Joseph’s 90, Rhode Island 83. Rams are now fourth in the pecking order in the A-10, probably needing a loss coming as early as the conference semis for any legitimate shot.
Illinois State 54, Wright State 46. Mizzou Valley sweeps Bracket Busters.

Proud to say I saw none of the nominated films.
More and more I’m inclined to think I’ll fall into the Louisville to the final four trend that will be happening this March.
I got to say No Country for Old Men was indeed the WORST movie I’ve seen all year. How can anyone like this movie? First off who after getting 2 million dollars goes back to scene of the crime hours after with water for the guy who was obviously dead.
The movie had no purpose none it led me on this wild goose chase for nothing. The acting by Javier dude was really good he was an intriguing character however the movie sucked.
Oh I love NCFOM. You have to put yourself into a Coens type of mood to really appreciate their movies. They aren’t going to follow a certain spectrum and they will leave you thinking. Ever seen Fargo? Miller’s Crossing? Fantastic stuff.
