I don't know why Illinois State is so highly regarded. The only reason I can think of is the fact that it is the Mizzou Valley, and it's been a two-bid minimum league for a long time. But when I look at ISU, then look at UNLV or New Mexico, the latter two just seem like BETTER teams.

I know the MWC isn't in its finest form this year, but I've seen both of these teams play (even Vegas' beatdown at the hands of L'Ville) and I think they're both Tournament worthy.

Of course this field is weak, but Vegas and UNM have been playing well down the stretch, so they deserve some credit there.

Lunardi's page hasn't been updated since Friday, but that edition had St. Joe's in the "Last Four Out."

I do not get how UNLV and New Mexico are so solidly in according to so many people. Most seem to agree that when (if) they play each other in the MWC semis, the winner is in and the loser is out. Why? Neither has beaten anyone of consequence outside the conference (except Minnesota and Colorado). UNLV is hanging their hat on one win against BYU, and New Mexico is hanging their hat on one win against UNLV. We can't find better teams than that? Really?

And thank you for booting Illinois State. After reading in several places about how they were basically a lock, I finally took a look at their resume after yesterday's laugher against Drake. And yeah ... there ain't much there. How did they get so well-positioned in the eyes of so many media and bracketologists?

Whoa! So. many. words.

I can't decide if theteams are that bad, or if it's that even this year. I think St. Joe's has to be in, but then I say that the A-10 shouldn't have four.

Saint Mary's a lock after their loss?

Are you giving Villanova the nod over 'Cuse because of the Top 50 wins? It doesn't matter because I agree - their game on Wednesday is an elimination game.

I don't think VCU can make it.
