Throw out all the numbers, all the quality wins, all the rankings, and look at what happened when the two teams played. Tennessee went into Memphis and beat the previously undefeated Tigers. To me, this is why they should be seeded higher. Of course, you counter with, well Maryland beat North Carolina, should they be seeded higher than the 'Heels? Of course not. In the case of Tenn-Memphis, these are clearly two fairly even teams that are among the nation's elite. Obviously, a team like Maryland who pulled off an upset victory isn't.
