Though they got out to an early lead and even had the advantage at halftime, the sub-.500 Coppin State Golden Eagles couldn’t hold on and become the first 20-loss team to advance to the actual Dance. Mount St. Mary’s won 69-60 (and covered the spread with two garbage-time free throws, costing one of my roommates $30.)
I know there plenty of jokes to be had about mounting and copping and all sorts of sexual stuff, but let’s not get crazy and predictable here. The play in game is over (not “play on,” Musberger) and we can all get ourselves prepped for the actual Tournament.
In other obvious, depressing news: Erin Andrews is done with college basketball sideline coverage until next January.
And in case you’re wondering, Mount St. Mary’s receives their spanking on Friday night against North Carolina at 7:10.
