Oh, whoops. Opening round game.

This thing is a travesty. Either Coppin State or Mount Saint Mary’s will be denied the glitz and glamor of getting their doors blown out by North Carolina, and isn’t that part of the charm of this thing? We like to see the 16s play tough, but it’s also refreshing to see the expected routing in Round 1. The only justice in this year’s game is the fact that Coppin State is 16-20 and doesn’t really belong with the rest of the crowd anyway.

I could continue to bash the NCAA on why this thing is a joke, but I’ll save that for next year. You know why it’s a joke, too.

So yeah: It’s on ESPN tonight at 7 :30 p.m. ET and “Lavinburger” (as Brian from Awful Announcing calls them) will be on the telecast. One more night with Erin Andrews? I guess we’re all okay with that. It’s now possible that both teams will be, too.

The pick: Mount Saint Mary’s.
