Well, we couldn’t let it get too quite in the upcoming days before the NBA draft, could we? Seems as though Ty Lawson decided to be a stupid human being and get behind the wheel after imbibing.

Oh yeah … he license was revoked at the time, too.

A Chapel Hill police officer arrested Lawson, 20, at 2:33 a.m. on North Columbia St., in the heart of town. The officer stopped Lawson in a 2005 four-door Chevrolet with Maryland plates after hearing loud music coming from the car, said police Capt. Chris Blue.

It’s always between 1 and 6 a.m., isn’t it? We’ll have to see what the fallout from this is, but I’d assume Williams will bench him (provided he comes back to UNC now that his rep has taken a hit) for at least the first two games. Should be quadruple that. Idiot.

Lawson’s court date is set for July 8.
