My life has changed: Surround sound was installed in my living room last night. The question I have, which probably enters the mind of nearly everyone who finally sets up a 5.1 system in their home: How did I go so long without it?
No. 4 Gonzaga 74, Washington State 52. A thorough beatdown in Pullman. Gonzaga is better than last year, and Wazzu is hardly of a shadow of the sometimes-top-five team it was last season. This was a tight one until a few minutes into the second half, when the Bulldogs turned on the after-burners and ran away from a team that prides itself on staunch defense. The No. 4 ranking is definitely deserved.
No. 5 Oklahoma 78, Maine 52. What a weird game, the University of Maine traveling to Norman. I’m guessing the Black Bears were a little surprised by how big Oklahoma was once they were doing layup lines.
No. 10 Xavier 78, Ohio 56. Making me look good on the heels of my “Early-Season Surprises” post from yesterday, are the Musketeers. All but three players who dressed scored a bucket against Ohio. The Muskies now tune up for their annual game against Xavier, one of the most underrated rivalries in the nation.
Notable:
Creighton 77, Dayton 59. … Aaaaand the Flyers fall on their face after I give them some love. Serves me right; should have gone with Minnesota.
Brigham Young 94, Boise State 56 . BYU is 9-0 and Lee Cummard has a funny name and a serious game.
Charlotte 70, Mississippi State 64. Yuck. The Bulldogs fall to a 3-6 49ers team at home.
St. Peter’s 51, N.J.I.T. 38. The losing streak extends to 42 straight for the Highlanders and they only put up 38 in the process? My gosh, I’m blushing.
