Matt Howard and the Bulldogs continue to dominate and win ugly.
Hope your Friday leads into a terrific weekend for you. i chanced a tuna melt at a diner last night, so I’m hoping I can make it to lunch without any speed bumps today. I’ll be hitting up Stratton in Vermont this weekend to feed my need. I hope wireless Internet is available. I should be able to get a few hours away from the slopes to stay afloat on all the action.
—UPSET—West Virginia 75, No. 12 Georgetown 58. Only an 18-point loss to Temple five years ago was worse than this defeat last night under JT3′s reign at G’town.
No. 18 Purdue 70, No. 21 Minnesota 62. Not as close as the final indicates. The Golden Gophers were left wondering how on earth they could get off some decent shots all night. Purdue’s defense was as impressive as nearly any performance by any team I’ve seen so far this season. Put three of these performances together in a row in March and the Boilers will 100 percent be in the Elite Eight.
No. 12 UCLA 61 , Washington State 59. UCLA seems out of sorts. I don’t think it’s the rigors (??) of Pac-10 play, either. Still, a gritty win on the road always seems good for a team’s spirit. Bruins haven’t lost at Washington State since 1993.
No. 16 Butler 68, Wisconsin-Green Bay 59. Bulldogs are 17-1. Can they go the rest of the year with only one more loss? Probably not. But join me in rooting for it.
No. 23 Gonzaga 83, Pepperdine 69. Kind of odd: Bulldogs are ranked in the AP, not the Coaches Poll. Saint Mary’s (who won) is ranked in the Coaches, not the AP.
Notable:
Washington 78, Southern California 73. Huskies move to 4-1 in Pac-10 play, and I know it’s far away, but how about this team as a sleeper to win the Pac-10 conference tournament? Tuck it away.
Oregon State , California . The more Oregon State wins, the more times you will hear that Craig Robinson is BARACK OBAMA’S BROTHER-IN-LAW. You hear that?! He’s bringing CHANGE! Someone find me a sledgehammer. The Beavers are 7-10.

How come everybody EXCEPT the cuse can beat g’town? Frustrating – can’t wait for the Orange-Out on the 14th.
