Will Bob Knight Address the Georgia Rumors Tonight?

Bob Knight will be calling the Tennessee women's game tonight, where Pat Summitt will go for win No. 1,000.

UPDATE: Knight went on ESPN Radio today and basically stated a non-denial denial. He was very much open to the idea of coaching again, given the situation is right. I’d say that puts Georgia in a pretty good position right now.

He’s broadcasting the women’s Tennessee-Oklahoma game, in which Pat Summitt is attempting to win her 1,000th game. Of course, and I mean this with sincerity, Knight will not want to make tonight’s game about anything but Pat, but the elephant has entered the room.

Brent Musberger will be calling the game with Knight, and the two have a good dynamic on television together. No doubt this subject was discussed today during a producer’s meeting, and I hope the duo and ESPN’s crew do the right thing and allow Knight to at least inform us of whether or not he has any interest in coaching again.

Dick Vitale has gone public with his … support … of Knight to UGA.

And as for the OU-UT game, Summitt finds her team in an unfamiliar position: underdogs. I won’t feign expertise on the women’s game, but Summitt had admitted that this one tonight is going to be one of the tougher games she’s had to coach in recent years.
