Jay Wright has his Wildcats in the thick of it all again. And look at that suit.
Woke up with a sore throat. My day is practically ruined.
No. 13 Villanova 102, No. 10 Marquette 84. The Golden Eagles are the latest victim of the Big East flu, dropping two in a row. ‘Nova hit 13 treys, and it’s hard to lose when you get 39 points behind the arc. This game took forever. Gotta love when ‘Nova plays on its true home court. Wildcats are all but a lock at this point.
No. 9 Michigan State 54, Michigan 42. Hard to believe it had been four years since MSU won in Ann Arbor. Manny Harris can’t do everything, by the way, but John Beilein seems determined to make that not the case. A combined 94 points. Feel the Big Ten basketball excitement!
No. 12 Clemson 87, Boston College 77. The types of games the Tigers haven’t been winning consistently in the past three years.
No. 25 Florida State 68, Virginia 57. All wins against Virginia aren’t taken seriously.
Notable:
Kentucky 68, Florida 65. Thanks to a bad shot (that went in) from Jodie Meeks, the Wildcats get it and boy did they need it. But Patrick Patterson went down with an ankle sprain and did not return. Kentucky is not a Tournament team without him.
Texas 99, Oklahoma State 74. That’ll probably put the Cowboys out the pasture. Texas stops the bleeding.
