You probably couldn’t see it that well because FSN hasn’t gone mainstream in its HD coverage, but Duke was wearing some new uniforms last night.
As you can see, Duke was donning some threads that seem to unlock the mysteries of Durham past. Designs of classic architectureare embedded into the fabric of these unis.
Using Nike Aerographics technology, an engineered mesh providing zoned cooling and reducing the yarn by half, the weight of the jersey is reduced by 31 percent compared to current uniforms. Duke will be the first college program wearing jerseys that utilize this technology.
“We are excited that we can tell a compelling story about the rich tradition of Duke University using graphic elements on the back of the jersey,” said Eric Lautenbach, Nike Inc. Director of College Basketball. “Duke is a prestigious university and we are thrilled to unveil this innovation with this program.”
I guess that explains why Duke players will now be able to take a charge with even more ease.

The jersey thing you’d think will catch on within 5 years but the design seems pointless. Perhaps it distracts the opponents eyes while playing!
