Around the Top 25: The Final Big Monday Was a Quiet One

Villanova assured the fact Notre Dame will need to reach the Big East title game for a chance at a bid.
I’d like to thank ESPN for a lull in the television programming; my magazine-reading needed some catching up. Last night provided a great opportunity to do that.
No. 11 Villanova 77, Notre Dame 60. The Irish would’ve been in a much different situation if they had gotten this win at home. Instead, they allow Villanova to outplay, outscheme and outperform them in the second half. If any game can be an indictment on the Notre Dame basketball team this season, it should be this one. Jay Wright called this game the best defensive one for his team the entire season. The team also only turned the ball over five times.
Notable:
Davidson 90, Elon 78. Steph Curry eclipses 2,500 points (already) for his career in his 26-point performance. The SoCon tournament awaits …
Texas 73, Baylor 57. Give it up to A.J. Abrams, who has been through quite a bit in his four years at Texas. The seventh all-time leading scorer in the Big 12, the 372 3′s is really impressive to me. For all intents and purposes, this locks up a bid for UT.
