Sweet 16 Preview: Memphis-Missouri

What to Look For: Speeeeeed!! Tigers everywhere! Everyone believes this game will be upanddownupanddownupanddown. Perhaps. But Memphis is amoeba-like. The Tigers can adapt, sure, but they can also slow you the hell down. We’ve seen plenty of teams suffocate to death under the Tigers’ terrific man-to-man defense.
Missouri’s 30-6, you know. That’s pretty incredible. The lights get a little brighter in the second weekend, so will this team adapt? How much does that stuff matter? This is a unique game because neither team can say the pressure is on the other team. Both have nothing to lose, can let it fly and we should get a frantic contest because of it.
However, this can also lead to one team going ice cold, falling behind by 15 and then, before you know it, the game’s a snoozer. Antonio Anderson and Robert Dozier (Memphis seniors) would be in their fourth straight Elite Eight appearance with a win.
Memphis X factor: Tyreke Evans has to be it. Not a true point guard, but a physical, imposing one. His skills get put to a true test tonight.
Missouri X factor: J.T. Tiller. Will be key in the frequently trapping defense Missouri will throw at Memphis.
Missouri upset potential: 50%.
