Duke courted Clair Watkins, of North Carolina's Butler High, then went back on its verbal commitment. Recruits do it all the time, but how often do we hear about the flip side? (Charlotte Observer photo)
Caught the end of the Monmouth-St. Peter’s game as I was walking out the door to work. Man, the students really didn’t come through — or everyone bailed to make their 8 a.m. lit/physics/American studies class. Not likely. Hate that I have to pull a 13-hour day at work and will miss the majority of this marathon. One day, my 13-hour endeavor on a weekday will be to cover this sport on a full-time basis. (*Tear)

• I always, always, always say you foul when up 3 with less than five seconds to go. A little knock on Cal for even putting John Wall in the position to win the game. {CBS Sports}
• A stealthy loss for an SEC program. One more of these and it’s time to write a column! {The Telegraph}
