The Sports Hernia will probably think Christmas came early.
In case you missed it out there in the Interwebs, Mark Titus, of Ohio State, is one of the best personalities in the game. That’s him with the wannabe-epic mustache.
Titus’ blog, Club Trillion, is one of the better college basketball reads out there. Forget the fact Titus gives us a perspective few see so openly, he’s self-aware and self-deprecating in a way that’s extremely likable.
Here’s the lede in his latest entry:
Those of you who are anxiously awaiting the return of Lost and have recently found yourself doing a lot of channel surfing might have noticed that college basketball is in full swing. Even if you haven’t seen a game yet, you surely know that every year around this time Dick Vitale thinks that people care about his stupid little terms, pretty much everyone in America disagrees with everything Doug Gottlieb has to say, and some of the biggest programs in college basketball play in those tournaments that take place in gyms that hold 200 people.
Terrific. Has a college basketball player ever bashed Dick Vitale publicly before? And I’ll always listen whenever someone brings up “Lost.”
Regarding his mustache, he grew it (and encouraged readers to as well) in order to help raise awareness for … prostate cancer. Humor always gets the job done, I say.
