Who knew John Calipari had so many friends in the media? The ESPN-Kentucky relationship has had many issues in the past two years, and at first, when I heard of this “jagoff” comment on Twitter, I thought, Oh, great, just what UK needed.
Turns out Calipari and host John Buccigross are old buddies.
How many buddies does Calipari have in the media anyway? I would think he’s encroaching the 1,000 mark at this point.
The good-natured ribbing occurs between 1:40 and 2:30 of the video, after Buccigross sneaks in a little shot at Memphis’ inability to win that national title (which now wouldn’t exist!) in 2008.
Sage Steele was quickly sent to the tweet machine to clear up any misconceptions over the nature of the relationship between Calipari and Buccigross. I love it. Cal can’t make one offhanded remark without the pumas pouncing.
Must be from Chi-town as this is a popular word used at times to replace the F word!
