Gif City: Plays of the Weekend (Part 1)

Another great weekend of hoops is in the books. There were a lot of things we didn’t expect to see. ACC after-thought Wake Forest upset #2 Miami by 15. A crowd of 35,000+ couldn’t stop Otto Porter in the Carrier Dome. Kentucky beat a solid Missouri team sans Nerlens Noel. A Michigan fan dressed a telly tubby. College basketball is unpredictable, and that is why we love it. Here are my favorite moments of this weekend. See plays  #13-#8 here.

In case you don’t already know, this is Gif City- a place where I round up the day’s top plays in Gif form. Some of them are homemade, some are from around the web. This feature is not for those of you using a dial-up modem. Even if you have Google’s new fiber connection give the page a second to load, you patience will be rewarded. Watch them, enjoy them, send them to your friends. Have I been forGIFful and missed your favorite? Tweet me at @Brennan_Keller.

7. Glenn Robinson III gets ahead on the break

 6. Villanova freshman Patrick Farrell likes what he sees

5. Branden Dawson gets angry at the rim

4. If you’re a basketball purist, this is a thing of beauty…All five players touch the ball before the shot goes up. Incredible ball movement.

3. Thompson flys in for the slam

2. In case you forgot Ben Mclemore is athletic

1. DJ Stephens of Memphis climbs the ladder, get his elbows above the rim

See part 2 (plays #13-#8) here.
