Maybe the Most Impressive 60-Footer I’ve Ever Seen

Maybe the Most Impressive 60-Footer I’ve Ever Seen

Because of the pure rainbow and the fact that he did it while being challenged, Missouri's Justin Denmon positively swished this beauty before halftime last night. ... Read More

Let’s Relive That: Marquette-Mizzou Ending

Let’s Relive That: Marquette-Mizzou Ending

Marquette Buzz Williams decided he had had enough of lipreaders seeing the profanities he was spewing at the officials last night, so watch, as the highlight goes on, as Williams then covers his mouth. Love it. He's like an NFL coach out there! ... Read More

End of the KU-Mizzou Game

End of the KU-Mizzou Game

Bless the soul(s) who have been uploading some great end-of-game stuff on the YouTubes this season. If you missed it, set aside 10 minutes and watch Missouri suck the life out of Kansas to win last night's game. Terrific job on the call by Ron Franklin, by the way. ... Read More

Possible March Upset Special: Missouri

Possible March Upset Special: Missouri

They're not ranked in the polls; haven't been all season. Ken Pomeroy has them at No. 8 in his rankings. RPI: 39. You don't know their coach and probably can't name a single player on their team. They're the Missouri Tigers, and have been off your radar since Quin Snyder's curls were sexying up the sidelines at the beginning of this decade. But it appears the Tigers are on their way ... Read More

Leo Lyons, who is probably Missouri's X factor in making The Dance, has been suspended indefinitely for not paying a traffic ticket. Expect him back by the end of the month. Or once Mizzou hits a three-game skid. {AP} ... Read More

Five Early-Season Team Surprises

Five Early-Season Team Surprises

And like that, we're 1/5 through the college basketball season. While clubs like North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Connecticut, Gonzaga — heck, even a school like Wake Forest, who was expected to be a player — have started strong out of the gate, per usual, some schools sneak up on you. Here's CHJ's five most pleasant of surprises. Ohio State. Doing it with defense. More than eight blocks per game; holding opponents to ... Read More

Where Have You Gone, Quin Snyder?

Where Have You Gone, Quin Snyder?

Good ol' Quin—he may have been breaking some NCAA bi-laws, but his players weren't going all country music video on people. Now, it's Mike Anderson's (right) team and he's going to have to sit five of his players for the next couple of games. Yes, Missouri is going to be having some scoring problems. It all stems from Sunday night, when starting guard Stefhon Hannah received a broken jaw in the fracas at a club ... Read More

Goins’ groin shot on Cousins

Goins’ groin shot on Cousins

Published On Saturday, March 13th 2010

I get the feeling SEC coaches have purposefully gone after Cousins to try and get him to snap. That's not to say I think Bruce Pearl directly told Goins, "Hey, if you get a chance, throw a fist into DeMarcus' crotch," but I don't think coaches have shied away from telling their team that he's a hot head who will crack if you give him reason to.

When Calhoun leaves UConn, Tom Moore would be a worthy successor

Published On Thursday, March 11th 2010

Long-term, did Quinnipiac losing last night help Moore's chances down the road of going to UConn? If he and the Bobcats had won, would he be wooed by many a school in the next six weeks?

Another weak, only-verbal punishment, this time handed out by the WAC

Another weak, only-verbal punishment, this time handed out by the WAC

Published On Wednesday, March 10th 2010

You know, I'm not saying we have to fine coaches every time or make them sit out a game, but now we're starting to see a bit of an unwanted pattern with coaches being "punished" by way of a short-but-sweet press release put out via said coach's conference Web site.
