Travis Ford Does What Bill Self Couldn’t

Travis Ford Does What Bill Self Couldn’t

First he was rumored to take the LSU job, but now it's official: Travis Ford will be coaching in the Big XII next year at Oklahoma State. The press conference will be going down around 2 p.m. today. Funny, when you learn that last August Ford signed that coveted multiyear extension to coach UMass. Such is the way of the coaching world in college basketball. Ford had been the coach at UMass ... Read More

That NIT Final Kind of Snuck Up on Us

That NIT Final Kind of Snuck Up on Us

Yes, UMass and Ohio State will battle it out tonight at Madison Square Garden for the right be predicatbly joked about as the 66th-best team in the country. It's believed that M'Men coach Travis Ford could accept the coaching job at LSU (seems like an OK fit, nothing great), so this could be his last game with the school. I'm going to have to root for UMass because I shilled for ... Read More

A-10 Hate

A-10 Hate

No, I'm not in the bag for the Rams, but it just so happens that some of my friends have been going to games in the past week. Hey, I don't have much else to put up here as Saturday unfolds itself on the tubes. Anyway, Kevin Duffy is an undergrad at the University of Connecticut. He occasionally writes for nbadraft.net and attended the fantastic UMass-URI tilt on Thursday night at ... Read More

Goins’ groin shot on Cousins

Goins’ groin shot on Cousins

Published On Saturday, March 13th 2010

I get the feeling SEC coaches have purposefully gone after Cousins to try and get him to snap. That's not to say I think Bruce Pearl directly told Goins, "Hey, if you get a chance, throw a fist into DeMarcus' crotch," but I don't think coaches have shied away from telling their team that he's a hot head who will crack if you give him reason to.

You know, I'm not saying we have to fine coaches every time or make them sit out a game, but now we're starting to see a bit of an unwanted pattern with coaches being "punished" by way of a short-but-sweet press release put out via said coach's conference Web site.
