The Hansbrough Lovefest Will Have One More Year of Touring

The Hansbrough Lovefest Will Have One More Year of Touring

All that talk of toughness, heart, grit, passion and hard work is going to be crammed down your throat by the likes of Vitale, Bilas, etc... in '08-'09 as Tyler Hansbrough has (intelligently) decided to stay for his senior season. The brief statement on Psycho T's decision was released by the school. Whether you're a Hansbrough fan or not, amidst the Beasleys, Durants, Odens and Roses of the world, he helps ... Read More

KU-Memphis, Monday Night

KU-Memphis, Monday Night

Well, I got this one right. Don't worry, I just jinxed myself from correctly picking Memphis to win it all. A few quick hits: -I'll absolutely be putting up that sweet back door pass from Rose to CD-R, who then slammed it in Love's grill (followed by an immature pointing-and-laughing display by Dorsey). -Derrick Rose has gotten more impressive with each Tournament game he's played in. Are we in for the ultimate climax? -Both ... Read More

Ganging Up on the Heels

Ganging Up on the Heels

Despite the fact that the two teams are anything but a guarantee to play each other on Monday, Bruin Roar has put together a cute, Photoshopped collage of Hansbrough-inspired comedy. Many of you may not know, but the band above that Hansbrough is singing for is Guster. I Love. Guster. (What a random choice for Bruin Roar to pick out ... Final Four Storylines

Final Four Storylines

Just to put it all on the table, here's what we're looking at this weekend. The four teams combine for almost 6,900 wins, over 300 Tournament wins, 17 national titles and 51 Final Fours. Roy Williams will be coaching against his former team, Kansas, where he never won a national title, but made four Final Fours. You can make the argument that there are 19 potential NBA players playing amongst the four teams ... Read More

Five Reasons Why North Carolina Won’t Win It All

Five Reasons Why North Carolina Won’t Win It All

Rather than dissect each team and tell you why any squad can win ... I'm going to go the opposite way. Let's have some fun. 1) Because Roy Williams is a phony. He also says the word "crap" too much. It's unsettling. How great would a loss to Kansas feel for all of us after his rant to Bonnie Bernstein in '03. 2) Because Ty Lawson, to Williams' own admission, turned his ... Read More

Tyler Hansbrough’s Welted Stomach

Tyler Hansbrough’s Welted Stomach

Michael David Smith over at Fanhouse linked me up yesterday, so I have to return the favor and share this video that aired on College GameDay this morning. I think Hansbrough's tone for this segment is f'ing hilarious, because he's so damned serious about it. We take ping pong fucking seriously! If Duke's student section was really smart, they'd get knowledge of this segment and buy as many ping pong paddles as ... Read More

“Go Back to the Scheyer!!”

“Go Back to the Scheyer!!”

Since Duke is near no ghettos, I can only imagine that a few Carolina fans had to burp that out of their system as the seats emptied last night. Duke was very workmanlike and you'd even think this was a Battier-led team, the way they handled themselves in the 89-78 win under the circumstances. But no, they are a bunch of undersized, overachieving kids that have their hateable qualities, but also ... Read More

Tonight’s Game Is Where They Eat the Wine and Drink the Cheese

Tonight’s Game Is Where They Eat the Wine and Drink the Cheese

Or something. And y'know, for all the reasons that Duke can be hateable, UNC fans (and their coach) have plenty of reasons to be mocked and ridiculed as well. (Need I remind you? Six second mark is what I'm referring to here.) As for tonight, Dickie V is back just in time from his vocal chord surgery to scream his lungs out over this one. C'mon, don't tell me that you ... Read More

Oh! So Close!

Oh! So Close!

I'll admit, I was rooting pretty hard for Davidson to pull it off, but it did seem like they got a little shaky under the pressure as the game moved towards its ending. However, the win will look good on their resume come March. So that's something, right? UNC 72, Davidson 68, in case you missed the final score. Wayne Ellington was pretty much the reason that the Tar Heels got ... Read More

Goins’ groin shot on Cousins

Goins’ groin shot on Cousins

Published On Saturday, March 13th 2010

I get the feeling SEC coaches have purposefully gone after Cousins to try and get him to snap. That's not to say I think Bruce Pearl directly told Goins, "Hey, if you get a chance, throw a fist into DeMarcus' crotch," but I don't think coaches have shied away from telling their team that he's a hot head who will crack if you give him reason to.

Another weak, only-verbal punishment, this time handed out by the WAC

Another weak, only-verbal punishment, this time handed out by the WAC

Published On Wednesday, March 10th 2010

You know, I'm not saying we have to fine coaches every time or make them sit out a game, but now we're starting to see a bit of an unwanted pattern with coaches being "punished" by way of a short-but-sweet press release put out via said coach's conference Web site.
